Welcome to Chandra's website, the aim of the site is to showcase her work, share her love for water colour painting as well as what inspires her to paint.
Chandra is a self-taught artist who has developed her love of art and landscape painting from an early age. She paints mostly in water colour and has developed her own unique style drawing on inspiration and the technical expertise of many international artists such as; David Taylor, Tony Smibert, Ron Ranson, Robert and John Lovett to name only a few.
She has an intuitive sense of colour combined with a classical romantic style of painting. She finds the inspiration to paint in many things; the natural beauty of the sunrise and sunset; the atmospheric effects of light captured in a misty landscape; the drama of an approaching storm front.
Over the last 20years she has exhibited and sold her work in many local art shows and exhibitions; Waverly Collage Art Show, South Maroubra Village Green Art Show and St Vincent's Private Hospital Annual Art Exhibitions. In addition she has contributed many paintings to many charity functions and auctions for St Vincent's Hospital.
Chandra is currently a member of the St Vincent's Art Committee, who represents St Vincent's Private Hospital. The committee is responsible for the administration of the Hospitals art collection and the facilitation of campus art exhibitions.
Currently Chandra continues to work towards her new career as an artist attending workshops in Sydney, visiting Tasmania to attend workshops run by international watercolorist Tony Smibert. On returning from Tasmania she won First Prize at the South Maroubra Village Green Art Show, winning The 2010 Peoples Choice Award for 2010 resulting in her work being published in the Southern Courier.
